1. QUALIFICATIONS

1.1 You must be age 18 and over and be actively employed as a bartender responsible for producing alcoholic cocktails (drinks with three or more ingredients at least one of which is alcohol) within the participating cities of London, Liverpool, Bristol or Cardiff. Your bar must stock Slane Irish Whiskey.

1.2 Entry is open from 0:01 on the 22.04.19 until 23.59 on the 01.06.19. No responsibility is accepted for any entry that is not delivered or is delayed due to technical reasons. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.

2. RESPONSIBILITY

2.1 The Promoter supports responsible drinking and adheres to all marketing codes applicable to alcoholic beverages, therefore any entries which the Promoter deems to encourage or be suggestive of irresponsible drinking or irresponsible behaviour, or which might in the Promoter’s judgement constitute a contravention of any applicable marketing law or code will be ineligible. Furthermore, any entry that is considered lewd, obscene or distasteful in the sole opinion of the Promoter, will not be eligible.

2.2 Do not include trademarks or logos owned by others unless you have permission.

2.3 All entrants must, for the duration of the Competition, conduct themselves consistently with the promotion of responsible drinking behaviours.

3. ENTRY MECHANISM

3.1 In order to qualify for entry entrants must submit;

  1. their personal details;
  2. their original cocktail recipe (with unlimited ingredient amount permitted) with an associated picture of your cocktail (which conforms to the Cocktail Recipe Requirements detailed below); and
  3. answer the “Slane Sustainability” question “What Sustainability Means To You”

3.2 The original cocktail recipe (“Cocktail Recipe Requirements”) must comply with the following limitations:

  1. Contain and be based on Slane Irish Whiskey: this is the only whiskey permitted in the Competition.
  2. Be allowed homemade ingredients, but entrants must be aware that if successful they will need to be able to reproduce the homemade ingredients in volume, on the day of the takeover in Dublin (which forms part of the overall prize detailed below in Clause 5), and with locally available produce in Dublin, Ireland. These ingredients (and all ingredients used) must be food safe.
  3. The maximum quantity of alcohol permitted is the equivalent of 50ml of alcohol at 40% ABV.
  4. All ingredients must be specified in millimetres or centilitres divided into “whole numbers” (1,2,3, etc) and/or “half numbers” (½, 1½, etc), and/or smallest quantities (dashes and/or drops). The ingredients have to be measured out using a jigger.

4. COCKTAIL COMPETITION JUDGING

4.1 The cocktail recipe submitted by each entrant will be judged by Michael Brown, UK Slane brand ambassador and Frank McGivern, UK Brown-Forman Advocacy manager.

4.2 The two judges will pick the below amounts of their favourite cocktail recipes out of those qualifying entries under the Entry Mechanism from:

  1. Eight (8) from London;
  2. Eight (8) from Liverpool; and
  3. Eight (8) from Bristol and Cardiff combined (i.e. four favourite recipes per city)

based on the following criteria of relevance to sustainability, taste, story and notify those shortlisted finalists by the 1st June 2019 via email.

4.3. The judges, along with an independent judge from each city, will hold a competition for the finalists in each city, with dates to be confirmed. However, finalists should be available during the month of June 2019. Finalists will be expected to prepare their cocktail recipe for the judges who will have the opportunity to taste their cocktail recipe and rate the cocktail recipe again on the same criteria as mentioned above in clause 4.2 as well as their artistic flare in the creation of the cocktail.

4.4 Judges will pick their favourite cocktail recipe/finalist from each of the city heats (mentioned above in Clause 4.2). These three winning cocktail recipes/finalist will be the winners of the main prize.

5. THE PRIZE

5.1 There are three (3) main prizes of a trip to Dublin, a visit to the Slane Distillery and a takeover of a renowned cocktail bar in Dublin in which the prize winners will showcase their winning drinks. The prize includes economy return flights for each winner between the international airport nearest the prize winners residence and Dublin, Ireland departing on the morning of 21.08.2019 and returning on the afternoon of 23.08.2019; standard accommodation (single occupancy room); breakfast, lunch and dinner daily for each prize winner and ground transportation between the Dublin airport and the hotel and between the hotel and group-related activities (as determined by Promoter). The prize winners shall be responsible for travel to and from the winner’s nearest UK international airport, together with any additional expenses including spending money and any insurance premiums required.

5.2 The prize winners must hold valid passports with 6 months' validity remaining. The prize winner must also comply with immigration requirements for entry into the Republic of Ireland and must not have a criminal record/any unspent convictions. It is the responsibility of the prize winner to arrange any necessary visas to enter the Republic of Ireland.

5.3 Any amendments to or cancellation of the trip made by the prize winner after the booking is confirmed may be subject to administration charges, which will be the responsibility of the prize winner. The Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner, should the original main prize winner not validate their identity and age within 2 days of having been notified by the Promoter as the prize winner.

6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

6.1 All entrants acknowledge and agree that all intellectual property rights, including copyright, in all cocktail recipe entries, shall be assigned to and become the property of the Promoter, which thereafter has the right to edit, re-edit, adapt, modify, reproduce, promote, create derivative works and otherwise use the winning entry in any way it sees fit. The Promoter will retain rights to the use of all submitted entries, names and videos and may use them for the purposes of advertising and promotion.

7.1 You acknowledge that Brown-Forman Corporation (BROWN-FORMAN) and other companies within the BROWN-FORMAN group (details of which are available on request) or BROWN-FORMAN's agents, partners or licensees, will handle your personal information, in accordance with the BROWN-FORMAN privacy policy https://legal.brown-forman.com/privacy-policy/english, for legitimate business purposes such as to provide you with personalized services and content, to analyze and consider ways of improving our services and products, and to respond to your requests. Your personal information may be transferred to any country where BROWN-FORMAN group companies or our service providers have facilities and personal information will be retained as permitted by applicable law. 8. OTHER

8.1 By entering the Competition, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the rules. The decision of the Promoter in all matters is final and no correspondence will be entered into. These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
