1. QUALIFICATIONS
1.1 You must be 21 years old and over and be actively employed as a modern hospitality professional in Thailand and be responsible for producing alcoholic cocktails (drinks with three or more ingredients at least one of which is alcohol).
1.2 Entry is open from 00:00 on 16 January 2025 until 23:59 on 6 February 2025. No responsibility is accepted for any entry that is not delivered or is delayed due to technical reasons. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.
2. RESPONSIBILITY
2.1 The Promoter supports responsible drinking and adheres to all marketing codes applicable to alcoholic beverages, therefore any entries which the Promoter deems to encourage or be suggestive of irresponsible drinking or irresponsible behaviour, or which might in the Promoter's judgment constitute a contravention of any applicable marketing law or code will be ineligible. Furthermore, any entry that is considered lewd, obscene or distasteful in the sole opinion of the Promoter, will not be eligible.
2.2 Do not include trademarks or logos owned by others unless you have permission.
2.3 All entrants must, for the duration of the Competition, conduct themselves consistently with the promotion of responsible drinking behaviours.
3. ENTRY MECHANISM
3.1 In order to qualify for entry, entrants must visit:

The requested and necessary personal details;
The story behind their Old Fashioned cocktail recipe in video or image format; and
Their original Old Fashioned cocktail recipe (with unlimited ingredient numbers permitted, but it must conform to the Cocktail Recipe Requirements set out below).
3.2 The original cocktail recipe (“Cocktail Recipe Requirements”) has the following instructions that entrants must adhere to:
The cocktail recipe must contain and be based on Woodford Reserve Bourbon Whiskey: this is the only whiskey permitted in the Competition.
Entrants are allowed homemade ingredients, but must be aware that if successful they will need to be able to reproduce the homemade ingredients in volume, to promote the drinks at their outlet. These ingredients (and all ingredients used) must be food safe.
The maximum quantity of alcohol permitted is the equivalent of 50ml of alcohol.
Cocktail decoration should be composed of edible and food safe ingredients, such as fruit, herbs and vegetables.
3.3 Recipes not in accordance with the above requirements will be rejected.
4. COCKTAIL COMPETITION JUDGING
4.1 The cocktail recipe submitted by each entrant will be judged by Evgeny Yashkovich (Brown-Forman Asia Advocacy Manager), Ashley Kim (Brown-Forman Thailand Marketing Manager) and Stuart Fear (Brown-Forman Regional Brand Ambassador, Prestige Development Manager)
4.2 The judges will pick their ten (10) favourite cocktail recipes out of the qualifying entries (as set out under the Entry Mechanism) based on how well the recipe and the story demonstrates the brief of The Wonderful Race (further details below). The ten (10) shortlisted finalists will be notified by 8 February 2025 via email.
4.3 Judging criteria (the “Brief”) based on:
40% on drinks concept – the entrants’ original idea of how this drink was inspired and remember to link back to the overall storyline of The Wonderful Race (for more details on this, please see the Woodford Reserve Instagram profile)
30% on creativity – the most creative idea on how you would twist the classic Old Fashioned
20% on video/image presentation - entrants can definitely use any of the methods e.g. voice over, subtitles, captions, special effects to make their presentation more interesting. The main thing is to capture the judges’ attention
10% on cocktail story – a compelling story that fits well with Woodford’s brand identity and the bartender’s personality
Judges will pick their favourite recipe experience based on the criteria in this section.
4.4.The Promoter will hold a final competition for the ten (10) shortlisted finalists on 10 March 2025. The shortlisted finalists will be expected to go through 2 qualifying rounds with the different challenges on this date. If a selected finalist is unavailable to attend the next round on the specific date, then the Brown-Forman Thailand Team reserves the right to select an alternative entrant as a shortlist finalist.
Finalists photoshoot: The Promoter will arrange a photoshoot at the outlet of each of the ten (10) shortlisted finalists, on a date to be agreed with the individual finalist (between 16-18 February 2025). The photo will be promoted on Woodford SEA Instagram page and Woodford Reserve global website.
Finalists cocktail promotion: The ten (10) shortlisted finalists will promote their pre-tournement winning cocktail at the outlet at which they work / their own outlet. The Promoter will evaluate their promotion and select the top three (3) best promoted outlets (number of selling, brand presence), giving five (5) bonus points in the final round.
Elimination Round: The ten (10) shortlisted finalists will be required to prepare the cocktail recipe submitted for entry into the Competition for the judges, who will have the opportunity to taste and rate the cocktail recipe again. Scoring will be as follows:
Total of 25 points for aroma, 25 points for flavour, 25 points for creativity and 25 points for presentation, Bonus 5 points for top 3 performing finalists on the finalists cocktail promotion.
The five (5) finalists with the highest scores will then move forward to the final round.
Final Round: In this round, the five (5) finalists will be required to open and draw blind cards, each card will have an ingredient theme written on it. Each of the five (5) finalists will need to create a Woodford Reserve Old Fashioned incorporating the creative theme on the card that they have drawn. Ingredients to be used for the cocktail are limited to those made available by the Promoter team. Scoring will be as follows:
Total of 25 points for concept, 25 points for flavour, 25 points for performance and the last 25 points for fitting into the theme.
The best performer in terms of the overall score will be the Grand Prize Winner, 2nd Runner-up, 3rd Runner-up of Thailand.
5. THE PRIZE
5.1 The Grand Prize Winner will win a trip to Woodford Reserve Distillery and a 20,000 THB voucher.
5.2 The prize consists of a trip for the Grand Prize Winner to Versailles, Kentucky, United States to visit the Woodford Reserve Distillery. The prize includes return flights from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport to the United States airport, and hotel accommodation for 3 nights. The hotel room may, at the Promoter’s discretion, be based on two (2) people sharing. The Promoter/Brown-Forman entity will book and pay for the prize as agent for the Grand Prize Winner, who agree to be bound by any terms imposed by third parties including, without limitation, any relevant tour operator. The Grand Prize Winner must hold a valid passport with 6 months validity remaining, and, if they do not already have one, must not require a pre-arranged visa in order to travel to the United States. Grand Prize Winner must also comply with immigration requirements for entry into the United States. In particular, no Grand Prize Winner may have a criminal record. All travel-related administration is the responsibility of the Grand Prize Winner. All additional expenses including without limitation, spending money, travel to and from departure airport and insurance cover is the responsibility of the Grand Prize Winner.
The prize trip must be taken on the dates specified by the Promoter team. These dates are yet to be confirmed. The Promoter reserves the right to select alternative winners, should the original Grand Prize Winner/s not validate all of their identity, age, ability to travel on the fixed trip dates and compliance with United States immigration criteria within 2 weeks of having been notified by the Promoter as the prize winner.
5.3 The Grand Prize Winner will need to provide satisfactory evidence that they are aged 21 years or over. The minimum legal age for the purchase of alcohol in the USA is 21. As a US producer of alcoholic beverages, the Promoter has determined that it will not sponsor, directly or indirectly, travel to the USA for any individual who has not yet attained the age of 21
5.4 The 2nd runner-up will win a 10,000 THB voucher, 3rd runner-up will win a 5,000 THB voucher. It will be provided by the Brown-Forman accounting team. It will require sharing their bank account and ID, and Tax information.
6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
6.1 All entrants acknowledge and agree that all intellectual property rights, including copyright, in all cocktail recipe entries, shall be assigned to and become the property of the Promoter, which thereafter has the right to edit, re-edit, adapt, modify, reproduce, promote, create derivative works and otherwise use the winning entry in any way it sees fit. The Promoter will retain rights to the use of all submitted entries, including the entrants names, images and videos and may use them for the purposes of advertising and promotion. Further, each entrant agrees that the Promoter may use any content (video, photograph or other) featuring them that is captured at any stage of this Competition for the purposes of advertising and promotion, at the Promoter’s discretion. The entrant acknowledges that they will not receive any financial or other compensation for this.
7. DATA PROTECTION
7.1 You acknowledge that Brown-Forman Worldwide L.L.C and other companies within the BROWN-FORMAN group (details of which are available on request) or BROWN-FORMAN's agents, partners or licensees, will handle your personal information, in accordance with the BROWN-FORMAN privacy policy https://legal.brown-forman.com/privacy-policy/english, for legitimate business purposes such as to provide you with personalized services and content, to analyze and consider ways of improving our services and products, and to respond to your requests. Your personal information may be transferred to any country where BROWN-FORMAN group companies or our service providers have facilities and personal information will be retained as permitted by applicable law. If in the future, you do not wish to receive further communications from the BROWN-FORMAN group and would prefer to be removed from its database, or if you wish to make corrections to your details or change how you receive communications from us, please write to: [email protected]
8. OTHER
8.1 By entering the Competition, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the rules. The decision of the Promoter in all matters is final and no correspondence will be entered into. These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of the participating countries where the competitions will be held shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
