Official Rules and Regulations

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. You must be at least 19 years of age, able to prove that you are currently employed as a bartender or barback and a legal resident of Canada, residing in the city of Toronto, Ontario to participate. Contest void wherever prohibited or restricted by law. Entrants must be currently employed as a bartender or barback in Toronto, Ontario. Previous Tequila Herradura Master Class Enrichment Trip contest winners are not eligible.

CONTEST PERIOD: Start Date August 1, 2019.

ENTRY DEADLINE: August 31, 2019 at Midnight PST.

HOW TO ENTER: In order to enter, the Contest potential entrants must complete an application form through Herraduracanada.esquire.com during the Contest Period. Entry must be completed using the form; each section of the Submission Entry form must be completed. An entry will consist of one original margarita recipe and a short video submission of the entrant making their margarita recipe and explaining their inspiration behind the recipe. The video must not contain information that would be considered illegal according to country laws, harmful to the Tequila Herradura brand, mention any celebrity, or mention any other alcoholic beverage brands. Furthermore, an entry must be in good taste in the sole opinion of Sponsor. The video may be no more than 2 minutes. Previous Tequila Herradura Master Class Enrichment Trip contest winners are not eligible. An entry that does not meet the above criteria will not be eligible. All entries become the Property of Brown-Forman/Tequila Herradura, and other partner promoters.

Limit one entry per person.

JUDGING: Prize winners will be selected based on the following criteria during the online submission phase the Contest.

Online Entries:

All complete entries submitted to Herraduracanada.esquire.com within the entry time frame will be judged against the below criteria based on the perceived quality of the submission in the form of a short video submission showcasing an original margarita recipe.

Judges will not take into consideration current employer or any other personal information in the selection of a Prize Winner.

Judging Criteria (Online Entries)

Initial scores will be based on the judges’ interpretation of the video content and cocktail recipe submitted. In their sole discretion judges may, but are not required to prepare the submitted cocktail.

Scoring Criteria:

Originally-Inspired Margarita Recipe, using Tequila Herradura Reposado (1.5 oz.):

Cocktail Visual Appeal __/ 4-6 pts.
Creativity and ability to incorporate unique ingredients in a meaningful way __/ 8 pts.
On-Camera skills and engagement to come to life through storytelling, personal presence, overall demonstration presentation and engagement. __/ 10 pts.
Tell us about the inspiration behind your original margarita recipe in the video __ / 6 pts.

Timing

Video entry may not to exceed 2 minutes total.

Recipe

· Recipe must use Tequila Herradura Reposado (minimum 1.5 oz. or 45ml Herradura Reposado)

Format

· Upload video link.

Total available points: 30 pts.

Scores will not be shared with contestants at any stage of the competition.

Judging will be concluded on or about September 6, 2019.

PRIZES: Herradura and where applicable, its agencies, partners, or other promotional partners will award two (2) Mexico Trip Prize Winner prizes. There will be no more than two (2) Mexico Trip Prize awarded for the Canada contest.

Mexico Trip Prize Casa Herradura Master Class Enrichment Experience:

DATE: September 22 – Departing September 25, 2019

There will be a maximum of two (2) Mexico Trip Prize Winners from the Canada contest.

A Mexico Trip Prize is described in these rules.

There will not be a competition in Mexico.

Mexico Trip Prize consists of a trip to the Casa Herradura Distillery in Amatitán, Jalisco, Mexico for an immersive educational experience to further develop their knowledge and skills.

(ARV: $2000).

Prize consists of:

Round trip Coach Airfare for winner from Toronto, Ontario to Guadalajara. Lodging accommodation (4 days 3 nights) in Mexico as determined by Esquire/Sponsor (standard room/single occupancy).
Ground transportation in Mexico
Hosted tour of the Casa Herradura Distillery
Arrive in Mexico Sunday, September 22, 2019 by 4pm, Depart Wednesday morning September 25, 2019.
Mexico Trip Winners will be notified 2-3 weeks prior to the Mexico Trip Winner Mexico trip date.

If a Mexico Trip Winner cannot travel on the dates noted he/she may be required to forfeit the prize and an alternate Mexico Trip Winner may be selected.

Mexico Trip Winner is responsible for having the proper travel documentation to travel to the Mexico Trip Winner trip prize destination (including but not limited to passport,etc).

An agency designated by Esquire and/or Sponsor will execute and coordinate all travel arrangements for the Mexico Trip Winner competitors.

WINNERS OF ANY PRIZE: Taxes are the sole responsibility of prize winners. No substitution/transfer of prize permitted. Mexico Trip Winners will be issued 1099 tax forms for the value of the prize(s). If winner of any prize cannot travel on dates specified, he/she must forfeit the prize and an alternate winner may be selected. Prize winners are responsible for all necessary travel documents, including but not limited to passports. Beverage Alcohol is not part of any prize. Unclaimed prize(s) may not be awarded.

Additional Requirements for Entry:

Entries must be in English. Entries must not allude to the overconsumption or irresponsible consumption of beverage alcohol. Entries that do not include all required information and do not adhere to the foregoing and following requirements will be considered void and will not be considered in the judging of this contest. Entries that are deemed by Sponsor in its sole discretion to be illegal, obscene, profane or not in keeping with Sponsor's image will be disqualified.

Entry Requirements:

By submitting an entry, you warrant that:

You are the creator of the entry
The entry does not infringe the intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights or any other legal or moral rights of any third party, including any current or former employer, and does not defame any person or identify any person by name other identifying information
The entry has not previously been entered in any other contest
The entry has not been previously published in any medium
The entry does not violate any law or regulation
Sponsor's determination as to whether any entry potentially violates the rights of any third party is final

Eligibility:

Participants must be currently employed as a bartender or barback and a legal resident of Canada residing in the city of Toronto, Ontario. Two Mexico Trip Prize Winners total will be selected.

There will be Mexico Trip Prize Winners from other markets and separate promotions to join the Canada Mexico Trip Prize Winners at Casa Herradura.

There will be no more than two (2) Mexico Trip Prize Winners from Canada.

Employees of Brown-Forman, Esquire, promotion partner, their affiliates, liquor wholesale licensees, employees of Liquor Control Board, as well as advertising/promotion agencies and their immediate family members and household members of each and retail license holders are not eligible. This promotion is void wherever prohibited, taxed or restricted by law. In the event that the contest is challenged by any legal or regulatory authority, Sponsor or Administrator reserves the right to discontinue or modify the Contest, or to disqualify participants residing in the affected geographic areas. In such event, Sponsor and Administrator shall have no liability to any entrants who are disqualified due to such an action. You must be at least 19 years of age to be eligible. Contest void wherever prohibited or restricted by law.

NOTIFICATION: On or about September 6, 2019 potential winners will be notified by email from Brown-Forman or its agency or promotional partners. Upon notification Potential Winners will have 48 hours to accept the prize. If a winner does not accept the prize or does not respond he/she will forfeit the prize and an alternate winner may be selected. Potential winner will be required to complete an affidavit of eligibility /liability release. All submissions and winning entries shall be the property of Esquire and Sponsor and may be edited and/or used in their sole discretion. Unclaimed prize(s) may not be awarded. By accepting a prize, any winner: (a) releases Brown-Forman/Esquire/PROMOTION PARTNERS and their affiliated companies and licensed alcohol wholesalers and retailers from any/all liability claims, action or proceedings arising out of or for injuries or damages sustained while involved in any promotion activity or connection with the use of the prizes; as well as (b) consents to the use by Brown-Forman/Esquire/PROMOTION PARTNERS for promotional purposes in connection with this promotion, of his or her name and/or likeness and/or voice without further compensation where permitted. Winner must complete an affidavit of eligibility and liability release. A 1099 will be issued.

The Sponsor and participating promotional companies are not in any way liable for damage, loss or injury resulting from computer malfunctions, misdirected or incomplete entries or acceptance and use of the prize. Brown-Forman/Esquire/PROMOTION PARTNERS reserves the right in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this contest should virus, bugs or other causes beyond the control of sponsor corrupt the administration, security or proper play of the contest. The Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel terminate or suspend the contest. The Sponsors assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communication line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. CAUTION: Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the game is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, the sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such attempt.
